How I Get 6-10% Reply Rates With Every Campaign.

Copy my infrastrucutre so you can too...

If you’re sending 10,000… 50,000… even 500,000 cold emails/month and still stuck at <1% reply rates, here’s the hard truth:

You’re not “doing outreach.”
You’re burning your chance to book calls.

That reply rate is the single biggest bottleneck between you and six figures in pipeline.

The good news?
Fixing it doesn’t take new tools, warm-up voodoo, or praying to the inbox gods.

You just need to stop sounding like everyone else, and stop wrecking your domain health.

Let’s go deep.

Why Reply Rate Is the Holy Grail

Think about your reply rate like conversion rate in a store:

1,000 people can walk past your shop.
But if no one steps inside, location doesn’t matter.

You’ve only got 2 levers in cold email:

  • Volume: send more.

  • Efficiency: make your sends hit harder.

This is about efficiency.

Quick math:

✅ 50k emails @ 1% reply rate:
→ 500 replies → 50 leads → 11 meetings → 2 deals.

✅ Same 50k @ 6% reply rate:
→ 3,000 replies → 300 leads → 105 meetings → 12 deals.

Same work. 6x revenue.

This is why reply rate is the highest ROI lever in cold outreach.

Why Most Cold Emails Tank

What worked last year doesn’t work today.

✅ Spam filters are smarter.
✅ Your competitors are sending 10x more emails.
✅ ESP rules are tighter than ever.

Most people are still running 2022 playbooks.

They send:

  • Generic scraped lists.

  • Same templated copy.

  • Overused subject lines (“Quick question, ?”).

  • Burnt domains.

And then they wonder why they’re getting ghosted.

Here’s What Actually Gets 6–10% Reply Rates

I’ve sent 1M+ cold emails/day for SaaS, agencies, consulting, and private equity operators.

Our average reply rate is 4.6% (and in some niches, 6–10% with almost 1M/day send).

Here’s the framework:

1. Fix Your Infrastructure (Domain & Email Health)

Your offer could be perfect. Your copy could slap.

But if your domain is cooked?
You’re toast.

Domain health = how ESPs see you:

  • Healthy: inbox.

  • Unhealthy: spam folder.

What wrecks your domain:

  • Sending too fast, too soon.

  • Copy-paste spammy messaging.

  • Targeting garbage lists.

  • Reusing the same list too quickly.

  • Warm-up pools that spike suspiciously.

How to protect your rep:

  • Use Google/Outlook inboxes, not SMTP junk.

  • Start slow. Follow sending tables.

  • Segment lists. Verify everything.

  • Rotate lists every 90 days.

  • Don’t cheap out on warm-up.

And yes, aged domains matter. But not the way you think.
They don’t inbox better out of the box. They just give you more forgiveness when you screw up.

2. Build Lists Like a Psycho

You can’t write good copy on a bad list.

Wrong ICP = zero replies.

Stop scraping random Apollo dumps.

Instead:

  • Scrape niche directories, Crunchbase, LinkedIn job posts.

  • Stack data from Clay/Ocean.

  • Track funding rounds, acquisitions, hiring signals.

  • Scrape Reddit, X, and local directories.

Segment inside segments:
→ Series A SaaS + just raised + hiring SDRs.
→ Fintech operators + hiring ops teams.
→ Ecom stores + running ads again.

Hyper relevance > spray-and-pray.

3. Write Like a Human (Not ChatGPT)

Spam filters don’t “read” English. They analyze patterns.

So stop blasting the same 5-line blocks.

Good cold emails are:
✅ 50 words max.
✅ Conversational.
✅ Proof-driven.
✅ One single CTA.

Example:

Saw {{company}} just expanded into LATAM. We helped {{competitor}} increase demo rates by 19% in 30 days. Want me to send the teardown?

  • Subject line = More demos?

  • First line = relevant trigger.

  • Proof = competitor outcome.

  • CTA = 1 question, nothing else.

No links. No bullets. No fluff.

4. Follow Up Like You Mean It

30–40% of replies come from follow-ups.

But don’t “bump this up.”

Each follow-up adds:

  • New proof.

  • New angle.

  • New outcome.

Example:

1️⃣ “Following up. helped cut CAC by 22% last quarter.”
2️⃣ “Another reason this works: replaced with X, saving 40% in ad spend.”
3️⃣ “Want me to send the teardown we built for ?”

3–5 follow-ups spaced 2–4 days apart.

5. Test Like an Operator

No need for fancy tools.

But don’t test like a rookie:

  • 1 variable at a time (subject line OR CTA OR hook).

  • Minimum 500–2,000 sends per variant.

  • Track reply rate, positive reply rate, and booked calls.

If reply rate <1.5%?
Pause. Reset. Fix list/copy/infra.

What You Don’t Need

❌ “Private sequencers” (they don’t improve deliverability).
❌ Fancy AI “hyper personalization” (it’s still garbage if your list sucks).
❌ SMTP hacks from resellers (shared tenants = ticking time bomb).

You’re overpaying for tools and underinvesting in the 3 things that actually move the needle:

  • Clean domains.

  • Relevant lists.

  • Human emails.

Quick Wins You Can Deploy This Week

  • Rotate 3 new domains (age them with warm-up).

  • Scrape 1–2 new hyper-targeted segments.

  • Rebuild your opener lines—make them about them, not you.

  • Kill links & tracking on your next campaign.

  • Add 3 real proof-driven follow-ups.

You’ll go from 1% → 4–6% reply rates in 7 days.
